Hearing god’s voice

God wants to speak to you. However, many of our lives are too noisy and busy to hear from Him. He speaks and we miss it. Or, we don't know what to look or listen for. Over the next ten days, we'll explore some of the different ways God speaks, as well as some ways to ready ourselves so that, when he does speak, we're ready to hear.

Hearing God

How do we hear God's voice? How can we be sure that what we think we hear is not our own subconscious? What role does the Bible play? What if what God says to us is not clear?

The key, says best-selling author Dallas Willard, is to focus not so much on individual actions and decisions as on building our personal relationship with our Creator. In this series, you and your group can listen in as John Ortberg and Richard Foster dialogue with Dallas Willard on the themes of his beloved classic book, Hearing God.

Advancement

In Advancement, we will have the chance to look closely at Acts chapters 3 and 4 and get a picture of how a community, filled with the Holy Spirit of Jesus, acts. Never for an instant was He intending to build a church that would walk timidly and fearfully in the world, shrinking back from opposition. He was going to build a church that would be filled with the power of God to forcefully advance against demonic strongholds and the afflictions of a broken world. In this series, we will get the chance to see how believers in Jesus can move confidently, with authority, to claim territory amongst the broken and the lost, against the opposition and within the church.

REMAIN IN ME

Jesus is the true vine and He tells us that if we remain in Him as He remains in us, then our lives will produce much fruit. He is the source of life. Apart from Him, we can do nothing. Jesus gives us the formula for how to be powerful, difference-making, victorious Christians—and that’s to remain in Him. He’ll supply everything we need for life and godliness as we stay connected to the vine. Join me in this five-day study and let’s learn together how to remain in Him and produce much fruit.

What Does it Mean to Abide in Christ?

Pastors often encourage us to abide in Christ, but sometimes it can be confusing figuring out how to apply that principle to everyday life. Bill Kynes, Senior Pastor of Cornerstone Evangelical Free Church in Annandale, Virginia, teaches through Scripture to help us understand how to abide in Christ.

New Beginnings: The Work Of The Holy Spirit

Loneliness-7 day devotional

Not finding the quality of friends you need? Are you looking in the right place? Not only does God promise to always be with us, but trusting him will help us discern the kinds of friendships we truly need.

Harold Eckart

Did you know that there is an epidemic of loneliness in the US? Four thousand churches a year are closing their doors. Eighty percent of churches have either flatlined or are in decline. As of September 1, 2019, the number of mass shootings across the U.S. has outpaced the number of days in the calendar. Depression, anxiety, and suicide ideation is ramping up in young adults. Over half of Christian Millennials have already left their churches. It is a multi-level crisis. Is there something that we Christians can do?

The Gospel App 1.0 is a popular, seven-lesson, participative discipleship curriculum designed for underachieving Christians--and that’s most of us, of course. Other well-meaning discipleship manuals are typically designed to help folk become more Christ-like—a good goal to be sure. The Gospel App takes a different approach. The goal of the Gospel App is for you to become more dependent upon Christ. Anybody can do that.

Here you will learn again how to both receive and apply four core aspects of the singular Gospel over and over. It isn’t rocket science, not really. A child could do it. Ironically, that’s the heart of our problem.
