Pastor Joe and Family

Born in West Virginia and raised in New England in an Assembly of God pastors home with six siblings. Graduated High school in Caribou Maine and spent time at Salem State College on a Track Scholarship and then worked as a Dental Technician for several years until surrendering to the call of God on His life and went to Baton Rouge Louisiana to attend Bible College. He is married to his bride of 38 years as of September 2019 Debbie (Ury) Pickens who he met in High School. Together they have three wonderful children (Joseph, Alissa, Joshua) who live in Las Vegas, Atlanta Ga., and Brooklyn NY respectively, and five grandchildren. (Sophie, Sawyer, Sadie, Asher, and Caden)

Joe and Debbie have served in ministry in Caribou Maine, Northern New England District for three years where he received his ordination, and then nine years in Newport Pa. and as of June 2019 eighteen years at his present position as Senior Pastor at Christian Life Church in Chambersburg Pa.

Pastor Joe’s passion is to see people serve in their areas of giftedness to further the work of the Kingdom. He loves talking about the Kingdom of God and is very Kingdom minded.

His interests are singing gospel music (He recorded a project “To Be Used of God” and wrote a song for missions entitled “Look into Their Eyes”. He enjoys writing children’s stories for his grandchildren, spending quality time with his bride, and hitting the gym for a workout every now and then.
